The Selsey all weather Lifeboat launched to assist a yacht with two persons on board reported aground somwhere near Selsey, the Selsey Coastguard initial response team located the vessel as aground at the mixon rocks and soon the Lifeboat was standing by the vessel although unable to get close due to the shallow water. The Selsey mud team assisted in the taking of samples for the Environment Agency, this was after concerns were raised about raw sewege being pumped into the harbour by the nearby sewage treatment works.
